Who it is for
Candidates whose first language isn’t English: practicing lawyers from China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, India, Latin America and beyond, and LL.M. graduates who studied law first in another language. Most of them work while they prepare, sit the exam once or twice, and read English well but more slowly than a native speaker. Every choice in the product starts from that reader.
How the course works
- Read. Subject textbooks written as typed blocks: rules, elements, cases, California distinctions and exam tips, in short sentences for readers whose first language is not English. Chapter 1 of each of the thirteen subjects is published and free; further chapters follow.
- Practice. MBE-style questions with an explanation for every option, tutor and timed modes, and a review queue for what you got wrong.
- Rehearse. 100-question halves on the real clock, and essays and performance tests with feedback against the California rubric.
- Plan. A day-by-day plan to your sitting that rebuilds itself when you fall behind.
Today the course has 314 practice questions and 13 published chapters, counted from the live content.
Editorial standards
- Every fact about the exam links to its primary source: the State Bar of California, the California Supreme Court or the NCBE.
- Exam guide pages carry the date they were last checked against those sources, and are checked again after every official announcement.
- Exam numbers are quoted exactly as the State Bar prints them. Case names and code sections are never translated.
- Our practice questions are original or adapted. They are not licensed from the NCBE.
